My name is Olga Kovalev. I am a Ukrainian-born artist based in Los Angeles, California.

I have always been drawn to exploration and to discovering new ways of seeing, feeling, and expressing the world through art. I love experimenting with different styles, techniques, and materials, allowing each medium to open a new door to my imagination. I also teach art to children, and sharing the joy of creativity with them brings me tremendous happiness.

My artistic style has never been fixed. It has evolved and transformed throughout the years, reflecting different chapters of my life and different ways of seeing the world. Some of the works in my Portfolio are more than twenty years old. Looking at them today is like meeting different versions of myself along the way.

And yet, I am still searching.

I continue to look for that unique language through which I can express what I feel deep within myself, something that cannot always be explained with words.

There is one thing, however, that has remained constant. When I begin to draw or paint, I disappear into the process. I become completely immersed in an inner world where ideas seem to come from somewhere beyond conscious thought. Every work begins with something deeply personal - a feeling, a vision, a dream, or perhaps a quiet voice from somewhere within my soul.

Sometimes I see the finished painting in my mind before I even touch the canvas. In those moments, it feels almost magical—as if the image already exists somewhere, waiting to be discovered. I simply become a part of the process through which it reveals itself.

For me, painting is much more than the technical act of creating an image. It is an intense inner journey—a way of searching, feeling, questioning, and translating something invisible into something real.

My favorite philosophical quote expresses something very close to what I feel about life and art:

“LIFE IS A GREAT RIDDLE AND YOU WILL NEVER FIND OUT THE TRUTH, BUT YOU SHOULD TRY TO DO IT ANYWAY!”

Perhaps this is why I am always happy to meet another soul who can see beyond the surface of my work and feel the story I am trying to tell.
